These are the prayers that start my day off right. With each new day, I say these, meditating on the words, taking their words and intentions to heart and my day is already in a positive direction.
The Prayer of St Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen
The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.
A Compassion Prayer
Just like me, this person is seeking some happiness for his/her life. Just like me, this person has known sadness, loneliness and despair. Just like me, this person is seeking to fulfill his/her needs. And just like me, this person is learning about life.
